CHORC enters its 20th season of racing this year.
The 2010 calendar is now available. See you all on the 7th January 2010. |
Proposed 2010 format
Incorporate the Alternative Championship so there's
just one, of 16 rounds. Using the 75% rule we'd then be looking at the best
12 scores counting to the annual championship.
Each Quarter would then
be 4 meetings of one class, the worst score IN EACH
QUARTER being dropped.
The 4 classes/quarters, probably in this order would be
:
GpC/Sports,
F1/Indy,
Nascar,
Closed wheel Formula Libre.
Nascar could be a banked oval only, in which case even Tyco
and Tomy Turbos could be competitive, or a part banked
oval/part infield track like the one we used for the Saturday event this
year.
The first three classes would use the current 'all
inclusive' rules/chassis, so SG+, Lifelike, SRT and even Tyco or Tomy Turbo
(where they could work in Nascar), with the first three chassis most
definitely having been used together successfully this year.
Formula Libre would be the current 'SG+ free Alternative'
with any closed wheel body, as now. I'm also thinking of how to specify the body type here to get away
from 917's and GT40's and get more variety. Anyone got any
ideas?
Some of these changes cut down on costs - one less set of
trophies with no alternative championship - and my 'admin time' - one less
points table to maintain. Others will hopefully make the racing more diversified
body-wise (I have Nascar bodies if people need to borrow them) and more
sustained.
We'd still keep the Sprints and Teams going though, as I think they work
well.
